He is survived by: his wife Laurie Kersten-Ulmen; his children, Matthew Paul Ulmen, JoAnna "JoJo" Barthell (Sam) and Kara Ulmen (Justin Berdan); his grandchildren, Alana, Emery and Olive Barthell; and his sisters, Cindy Paulson (Al) and Becky Ulmen. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
