He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Tessness and Georgia Tessness; his brother Lyle; his brother-in-law Jack Franke; his nephew Todd Tessness; his stepchildren, Darri Niesen and Theresa Nowack; and also Duane.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia; his sons, Duane Tessness and Darrell Tessness (Michelle); his siblings, Delonda Franke and Melvin (Connie); and his stepchildren, Sherri Koran (Steve) and David Purfeerst. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
