He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Grunst and Grace Grunst (Hite); his siblings, Opal Biehn, Bern Gronholz, Ray, LeRoy, Robert and Edward; and his brother-in-law Jerry Zins.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Krohn (Curt) of Delano, MN, Lisa Matthews (Stan) of Delano, MN, Scott Grunst of San Diego, CA, John Grunst (Sharon) of Pierz, MN and Jeffrey Grunst (Sheila) of Ottertail, MN.; his grandchildren, Erin Krohn, Alyssa Arganbright (Dane), Brianna Grunst, Stephanie Grunst, Lonni Krohn (Kristina), Chris Hulke, Zachary Grunst, Lucas Grunst, Seth Matthews (Fabiana Pardo), Sam Matthews, Gage Grunst and Franco Torres (Kristen); and his sister Mary Etta Kastens of Nicollet. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
