She was predeceased by: her parents, Ole Ellingson and Alma Ellingson (Lokensgard); her husband Marvin Hermel; her son Donald Hermel; her daughter-in-law Jane D. Hermel; her parents-in-law, John and Anna Hermel; her great grandchild Liam Apell; and her siblings, Lorraine Honken (Bud), Lila Nelson (Morris) and Obe Ellingson (Rosalyn).
She is survived by: her children, Julie Kruse (Paul), Michael Hermel (Jane M.) and Janet Geisler (Jerry); her grandchildren, John Hermel, Tim Kruse (Megan), Jacob Johnson (Angie), Angela Hermel (Eric Banken), Krystal (Markus Apell), Jesye Leonard (Nic) and Jamie Hermel (Christopher Lottes); and her stepgrandsons, Todd Geisler (Leslie) and Grant Geisler (Kelsey). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
