She was predeceased by: her parents, Waino Thompson and Ino Henna Thompson (Oja); her siblings, Jean Sregzinski and Kay Hochstetler; her stepsiblings, Ruth Inman, Ronald Hill and Raymond Hill; her daughter Naomi Jean Thomas; her son-in-law Thomas Tumberg; her grandson Nicholas Salo; and her stepgrandsons, Kenny and Tim Klein.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Salo of Perham; and her children, Mary Lou Mortenson (Ardell "Mort") of International Falls, Daniel Salo (Wendy) of Watkins, Julie Tumberg of New York Mills, Timothy Salo (Gerry) of Ramsey, Joseph (Karen) of Alexandria and Benjamin Salo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
