He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Nielsen and Cristine Nielsen (Rasmussen); his grandson James (Milo Nielsen, III); his parents-in-law, Ben and Ella Piilola; his daughter-in-law Linda Nielsen; and his grandson-in-law David LeDoux.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Nielsen of New York Mills; his children, James Nielsen, II of Hudson, Florida, Susan Nielsen of Boca Raton, Florida and Karin Erickson (Allen) of New York Mills; his grandchildren, Stephanie Nielsen (Chris Hintz) of Beau, Jason Erickson, Kristeen Erickson, Kimberlee Ludovissie (Robbie), Nicholas Tilsner and Abbey Tilsner-LeDoux; and his great grandchildren, Noah Ludovissie, Reed Ludovissie, James "Milo" Nielsen IV and Lucas Nielsen. He is also survived by his family and friends.
