He was predeceased by: his father Fred Paavola; his wife Elaine Amberg; and his siblings, Melvin Paavola (Sylvia), Edwin Paavola (Linda), Wilho Paavola (Rosie), Waino Paavola (Mary Ann), Erwin Paavola, Helen Lepisto (Russ), Vienna Koivula (Jack) and Viola Cresswell (George).
He is survived by: his children, Kris Wallgren (Tom), Karla Kupfer (Tim) and Todd Paavola (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Greta Wallgren, Chad Wallgren (Ashley), Beth Gleason (Tony), Justine Anderson (Chad), Jenna Hendrickx (Josh), Brandon Kupfer (Taylor), Tori Paavola (Erik Olson) and Tanner Paavola. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He never left Nana's side, especially during her battle with Alzheimer's.
