He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Knopke and Avery Knopke; his parent-in-law Rita Seifert; his brother Carl "Buddy" Knopke, Jr; and his brother-in-law Roman Seifert.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Knopke (Kathryn Jensen) of Minneapolis, MN and William Knopke Jr; his wife Carrie Knopke; his daughter Kristi Tshilumba (Jean Claude Tshilumba) of Iowa City, IA.; his grandchildren, Olivia, Theodore, Oscar Knopke-Mooney of Minneapolis, Maxwell Knopke of Minneapolis and Carl Tshilumba of Iowa City, IA; and his siblings, Avery "Ginger" Cook of St. Paul, MN, Katie Batholomew of Washougal, WA and Tat Knopke of St. Paul, MN..
