He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Portner; his sisters, Marian Fischer (Ervin) and Deloris Helget (Ted); his brother-in-law Neil Weiland; and his parents, Theodore Portner and Eleanore Portner (Waibel).
He is survived by: his children, Steve Portner (Connie) of Gibbon and Linda Cleland (Ron) of Hutchinson; his grandchildren, Scott Portner (Heidi), Amy Seidl, Gina Stowel (Brian) and Jesse Dapper; his great grandchildren, Conner, Cassie, Hunter, Adalyn, Oaklyn and Haven; his siblings, Jody Wieland and Kenneth Portner (LaVonne); and his close friend Marlys Schlumpberger. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Social distancing guidelines must be practiced and all guests in attendance at the visitation and funeral will be required to wear a mask.
