He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Burmeister; his sisters, Dorothy and JoAnne; and his parents, Clarence Burmeister and Christine Burmeister (Huesby).
He is survived by: his daughter Roxanne Burmeister (Sarah) of New Ulm; his grandsons, Robert and Michael Hirzel; his great grandchildren, Rayann, Chloe and Lilith; and his sister Ruth Schmitt of Jordan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and relatives.
