He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Howk and Evelyn Howk. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Klaus of New Ulm; his children, Randy Howk (Jamie) of New Ulm, Melanie Griebel (Mark) of New Ulm and Cory Howk (Diane) of Sylva, NC; his grandchildren, Russell, Tucker, Brody, Kiefyr, Kierstin, Olivya, Kyler, Rebecca, Kaylin, Alexander, Jackson, William and Mackenzie; and his siblings, Loren Howk (Florence), Kevin Howk (Gwen), Rodney Howk (Donna), Robin Howk, Jeff Howk (Kathy), Renola Dauer, Barb Lindahl (Jeremy) and Leah Wickham (Jonny). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and friends.
He volunteered on the New Ulm Energy Awareness Commission for a while and went to St. Paul's Lutheran Men's Bible Classes until his physical capabilities diminished, then the pandemic started.
