He was predeceased by: his stepfather Ray Portner; his brother-in-law Mike Griebel; and his parents, Alexander Portner and Alice Portner (Zupfer). He is survived by: his wife Cindy Portner of New Ulm; his daughter Ashley Johnson of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Hudson of New Ulm, Paxton of New Ulm and Harlow of New Ulm; and his siblings, Yvonne Griebel of New Ulm, Kay Ann Schugel (Ron) of Courtland, Steve Portner (Mary Jane) of New Ulm and Bryan Portner (Marlene) of New Ulm.
