He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Dorinne Newman; his brothers, Andrew and Benedict Beranek Jr.; his siblings-in-law, Roxann Newman, Francis Schwab and Larry Herring; his niece Sara Newman; his nephews, John Beranek, Nathan Sturm and Gerald Schwab; and his parents, Benedict Beranek and Valeria Beranek (Brey).
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Beranek of New Ulm; his children, Missy Puhrmann (Dustin) of Paullina, Kari Steele (Jason) of New Ulm, Karen Barsness (Eric) of Volga, Roxann Klein (Josh) of Gaylord, Chris Beranek (Amanda) of Gibbon, Perry Beranek (Jessie) of St. George, Gary Beranek (Kara) of New Ulm and Geoff Beranek (Lynn) of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Jillian, Auggie, Ben, Katelyn, Joe, Connor, Hannah, Kennedy, Ethan, Caleb, Isaac, Brody, Alaina, Whitney, Lyla and Grayson; his father-in-law Marvin Newman of Willmar; his siblings, Esther Schwab of New Ulm, Virginia Herring of New Ulm, Grace Rubischko (Steve) of Gibbon, Chubby Carlson (Jerry) of New Ulm and Wallace Beranek (Donna) of Gibbon; his siblings-in-law, Cam Sturm (Mark) of St. James, Christie Newman of Minneapolis, Noreen Beranek of Gibbon, Rod Newman (Brenda) of Bloomington and Rick Newman (Mari) of Waconia; and his former wife Cynthia Newman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
