George Portner Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Portner Jr. of New Ulm, Minnesota, who passed away on February 11, 2021 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Portner Sr. and Annie Portner (Klinkhammer); his brothers, Leonard Portner (Alice) and Raymond Portner (Alice); and his son-in-law Rolland Howie.
He is survived by: his wife Angeline Portner (Meidl); his children, Dorothy Howie of Dennison, Donna Portner (Robert Nevitt), Diane Barghini (Richard) of Venice, FL and George E. Portner III of Dover, NJ; his grandchildren, Ryan Howie (Fey Vancamp) of Tucson, AZ, Anna Howie-Schmidt (Carl Schmidt) of North Pole, AK, Drew Nevitt (Katja Putzke) of Madison, WI, Mara Nevitt of Lincolnshire, IL, Dominic Barghini of Venice, FL and Alexander Portner of Clinton, NJ; his great-nephew Brandon Portner (Nicole); and also, Madilyn Portner and Jacob Portner. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 restraints, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
