He was predeceased by: his father Roger Schimmele; his parents-in-law, Bill and Maxine Minnihan; his brother-in-law John Herring; and his mother Virginia Jean Schimmele (Erickson).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Schimmele of New Ulm; his daughter Rochelle Fischer (Matt); his grandchildren, Estelle, Natalie and Montgomery of New Ulm; his son Martin Schimmele (Vanessa); his grandchild Livia of Alexandria, Virginia; his sister Diana Herring of Ocala, Florida; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Lish of New Hope and James Minnihan of Batavia, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Lutheran Church (1515 N Garden St, New Ulm, MN 56073). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
