He was predeceased by: his daughters, Brenda and Cheryl Franta; his siblings, Donna Pfeffer, Joleen Franta and Cletus Franta; and his parents, Herbert Franta and Myra Franta (Bushard).
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Franta of New Ulm; his sons, Jeffrey Franta (Ann) of Lafayette, Bradley Franta (Diane) of New Ulm and Ricky Franta (Mary Glawe) of Lafayette; and his sister-in-law Rosemary Franta of New Ulm. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.
