He was predeceased by: his sister Betty Lou; his brothers-in-law, Stanley Bastian and Charles Mathiowetz; and his parents, Alfred Dietz and Catherine Dietz (Jutz).
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Dietz of New Ulm; his children, John Dietz (Barb) of New Ulm, Joe Dietz (Nancy) of New Ulm and Sue Dietz (Allan Pikarski) of Avon; his grandchildren, Kristen Lovell (Justin) of Brandon, SD, Brandon Dietz of Moundsview, Kara Dickens (Aaron) of Castle Rock, CO, Kayleigh Dietz (Robbie Luukkonen) of Zimmerman, Jacob Dietz (Kelsie Sanderson) of New Ulm, Molly Dietz (Chris Albachten) of Nicollet, Jessica Roberts of New Ulm, Jonathan Roberts (Hailie Ahn) of Minneapolis, Jennifer Johnson (Jake) of Burtrum and Annalisa Gieser of Avon; and his sister Iris Mathiowetz of Redwing. He is also survived by his 17 great-grandchildren, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred to First Choice Pregnancy Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Oak Hills Living Center, or the Donor's Choice.
