He was predeceased by: his brother Gary Trapp; his nephew Mark Trapp; and his parents, Albert J. Trapp and Clara Trapp (Minssen). He is survived by: his wife Bette Trapp of New Ulm; his sons, David Trapp of New Hope and Michael Trapp (Amber) of Chaska; his grandchildren, Griffin, Olivia and Abigail Trapp; and his brother Albert C. Trapp (Lorna) of Excelsior.
