He was predeceased by: his grandson Luke Sowers; his brother Stan Sowers; and his parents, Michael Victor and Rosalie Sowers (Thurston). He is survived by: his wife Carrie Sowers of New Ulm; his son David Sowers (Nicole) of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Paige, Emily, Abigail and Nolan; his daughter Bethany Hutchens of New Ulm; his grandchildren, William, Hunter, Casey, Brett and Ava; his son Daniel Sowers (Marja) of New Ulm; his granddaughters, Hazel and Grace; his daughters, Valerie Haas (Wade) of Mead, Nebraska and Cheri Allen; his brothers, Richard Sowers and Tom Kissner; and his sister-in-law Lauraine Sowers of Sleepy Eye.
