He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Herbst; his brothers, Glen Herbst (Delerene), Russell Herbst (Luella), Harvey Herbst, Dewey Herbst and Homer Herbst; his brother-in-law James Paulson; and his nephew Randy Paulson.
He is survived by: his children, LeAnn Buendorf (Dean) of New Richland, John Herbst (Cheryl) of New Richland, Marsha Heers (Bob) of Owatonna, Kevin Herbst (Lori) of Albert Lea and Belinda Gold (Jerry); his grandchildren, Chad Buendorf (Kari), Troy Buendorf (Theresa), Scott Tangen (Dawn), Dena, Matthew Heers (Laurel), Nathan, Allison and Adam; his great grandchildren, Devin, Kia, Clara, Eva, Nellie, James, Kaleb, Maci and Everly; and his sisters-in-law, LeVine Paulson and Hazel Bach. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
