He is survived by: his children, Sam Root (Teri), Marty Root (Karen), Andrea Petzel and Connie Berg (Burton); his grandchildren, Brady, Adam Root, Taylor Root (Cody Stangl), Travis Root (Katie), Jon Root, Erik Root (Missy), Cory, April Root, Miranda Petzel, Grant Berg (Trudy), Gavin Berg and Kelsey Pederson (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Harvey Root, Kassidy Kirtz, Carter, Parker, Keaton Root, Avaya Dickie, Zeke, Emerson Berg, Griffin, Olivia, Kennedy Pederson and Baby Stangl; his sister Belvy Kaiser; and his sister-in-law Denise Esser.
