It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Celestine Rieland of New Munich, Minnesota, who passed away on October 21, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Rieland and Margaret Rieland (Kampsen); his wife Lois "Giggles" Rieland; his granddaughter Tara Pohlmann; and his siblings, Claude (Viola Marie), Irma, Wilfred, Lorraine, Walter, Irene, Dorine and Marie.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Pohlmann of Freeport, Jerry Rieland (Louise) of Freeport, Theresa Shay (Ralph) of Albany, Jeff Rieland (Doris) of Melrose, Julie McCalmant (Mark) of Albany, Lucy Bauer (Mike) of Melrose, Greg Rieland of Litchfield and Paul Rieland (Amanda) of Burtrum; and his sister Lucille Trull (Bruce) of Colorado. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (650 Main St, New Munich, MN 56356). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
