He was predeceased by: his parents, Werner Schmidt and Arleen Schmidt (Wilking); and his father-in-law Byron Kranz. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Schmidt of New Auburn Township, MN; his children, Derrek Schmidt and Amber Schmidt of New Auburn Township, MN; his sisters, Janell Christenson (Dave) of Le Sueur, MN and Melanie Schmidt (Joe Cox) of North Mankato, MN; his mother-in-law Sharen Kranz of Green Isle, MN; and his siblings-in-law, David Kranz (Holly) of Gaylord, MN, Miriam Schwenn (Rick) of Milbank, SD and Chelsea Parrott (Bryan) of Gaylord, MN. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (608 Highland Dr W, Winthrop, MN 55396). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
