He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Gappa and LaVonne Gappa (Rubedor); his brothers, Greg and Bruce; his parents-in-law, Harold and Ida Otto; his siblings-in-law, Harry, Paul Otto, Pauline Gappa, Jill Otto and Christine Otto; and his grandmother Martha Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Millie Otto; his children, Becky Haugen (Joe Pagel) of Wanamingo, Chris of Dennison, Carrie Archer (Jason) of Cannon Falls and Scott (Becca) of Cannon Falls; his grandchildren, Bradley Haugen, Brenna Tovar (Daniel), Bradley Archer, Mackenzie, Mason Farrington, Jaden Pagel, Brooklynn, Brynnlee and Oaklyn Gappa; his siblings, Steve of Kenyon, Ken (Debbie) of Cannon Falls and Paulette Gadient (Gary) of Goodhue; and his siblings-in-law, Dave Otto (Laurie) of Welch, Danny Otto (Ann Marie) of Welch, Karine Otto of Welch, Cheri Otto of Welch and Donny Otto (Karen) of Cannon Falls. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
