He is survived by: his sister Carrie; his wife Cindy Covington; and his children, Harrison Clark Covington, Andrew Jones Covington and Eleanor Carolyn Covington.

Cindy Smith met Bill in March 2020, before Covid restrictions were put in place in Minnesota.
