He was predeceased by: his parents, Juel Olson and LaVonne Olson; his former wife Cheryl Olson; and his children, Dawn, Steve and Jenny Carlson.

He is survived by: his wife Theresa Olson; his brother Mark Olson; and his children, Amber Johnson, Jeff Carlson, Tracy Helixon (Chris), Tim Schuldt, Julie DiFrischia (Brett), Joe Schuldt (Mira) and Jessie Larsen (Steve). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many other relatives and good friends.

“I am very sad to read about Steve's passing. I did get to meet him once at the Mermaid when I came into town one year and ow I am so glad I did get to see him. Things happen so fast you just never know. I am so sorry for the family to have to go threw this, its going to take time to let reality set in and Tess is going to need her family now but she also needs time to grieve. Give her time and space but be there for her also. I know, I've been there also. Corky Polnaszek”
