He was predeceased by: his sons, William Lamie Vah Jr. and Horatio Vah. He is survived by: his children, Carl D. Vah (Liberia), Vivien Vah (Liberia), Wilhelmina Vah Melton Keita, Nelli Mai Vah-Arthur (Ghana) and James Wreah (Liberia); his grandchildren, Catherine Melton, Alvin Jay Melton, Philip Melton, Laurina Melton, Irene Vah, Solomon Vah, Melvin R. Summerville, Nicholas J. Arthur and Aba Arthur; and his extended family, Buchanan and Monrovia.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church (5472 Adams St, Mounds View, MN 55112). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Crystal Lake Cemetery (3816 N Penn Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55412).
