He is survived by: his children, Rolf (Andrea) and Karen; his former wife Ingrid Markstrom; his sister Jean Whalton (Denny); his grandchildren, Sophia, Jack, Luke Markstrom, C. J. Markstrom (Katie) and Cassandra Guthman (Zack); and his great grandchildren, Ayden, Wyatt, Declan and Gavin.
