He was predeceased by: his parents, Leila Howell and Darold Howell; and his former wife Debra Ehrhorn. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Eli (Staci), Amber (Elliott), Yvonne and Heidi (Andrew); his siblings, Ruth (Dave), Marie (John), Dale (Debbie), Karen (Clark), Nancy, Dennis and Julie; his close friend Patty Jo; and also, David, Nick and Jodi.
