He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Flaten and Violet Flaten (Wicklund); and his brother Wallace Flaten. He is survived by: his former wife Pamela Huber; and his children, Mike Flaten (Shelly) of Hibbing, Kathy Atherton (Kyle) of Waterville, John Flaten (Rebecca) of Altoona, WI and Timothy Flaten of Morristown. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
