He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Stephens and Arvilla Stephens (Zahl); his wife Karen Ernst; his siblings, Sam, Dick, Bob, Darlene Stephens and Vel Gausman; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Grotjohn and Bill Gausman.
He is survived by: his son Allen "Butch" Stephens of Morris, MN; his sister Carol Grotjohn of Breckenridge, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Stephens of Calumet, MN and Karen Stephens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
