He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Schaefer and Vera Schaefer (Koch); his parents-in-law, Ed and Louise Erickson; and his siblings-in-law, Donald, Orville Erickson and Marjorie Erickson.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Erickson; his children, Linda Laue (David), Marlene Haugen (Paul) of Zimmerman, MN and Kevin Schaefer (Jenny) of Alberta, MN; his grandchildren, Christopher Laue (Chelsie) of Willmar, MN, Jeremiah Laue of Grand Forks, ND, Sarah Laue, Kyle Haugen of Milaca, MN, Kurt Haugen of Wahpeton, ND, Serena and Echo Schaefer of Alberta, MN; his great grandchild Ophelia Laue; his sisters, Lois Marxhausen (Eugene) and Caroline Schaefer; and his sister-in-law Kathy Erickson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (311 S Columbia Ave, Morris, MN 56267).
