He is survived by: his wife Emma Pohlen; his daughter Michelle Poppen (Dennis) of Sibley; his grandchildren, Rachel, David and Ben; his daughter Lori Haman (Mark) of Mankato; his granddaughters, Josie and Jenna; and his siblings, Florian Iffert (Joyce) of Kokomo and Dolores Russell of Madelia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
