He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Nelson and Gladys Nelson; and his son David. He is survived by: his brother Roger Nelson (Ingrid); his children, Shelly Telander (Bryan) and Jody Nelson (Todd); his wife Elaine Watson-McGaffey; his stepchildren, Rani Lenhart (Mark) and Mark Sawh (Taresa); his nephews, Chad and Matt; his grandchildren, Kristy, John, Sheri, Kevin, Erin, Jeff, Haley, Rachael and Joel; and his great grandchildren, Khloé, Maya, Hallie, Mason, Reid, Zachary and Jack.
