He was predeceased by: his parents, John Giesinger and Rose Giesinger (Schiff); his siblings-in-law, Norman and Caroline Haugen; his sister Jeanette Giesinger; and his sister-in-law Marvel Giesinger.

He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Jenson; his daughter Jennifer; his wife Gail Buckmier of Moorhead; his children, Jen Richards (Shane) of Moorhead, MN, John Giesinger (Madi) of Fargo, ND, Marissa West (Josh) of Moorhead, MN, Shareen Roberts (Justin) of Oberon, ND, Donnie Buckmier (Stephanie) of Minnewaukan, ND and Amanda Moffett (David Kinnard) of Sarasota, FL.; his siblings, Robert Giesinger (Judy) of Wenatchee, WA, Richard Giesinger of Detroit Lakes, MN, Roger Giesinger (Nancy Shumadine) of Norfolk, VA and Jean Fuka (Jim) of Hankinson, ND.; and his brothers-in-law, Loren Haugen (Lori) of Red Lodge, MT and Dennis Haugen (Dana) of Denver, CO.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
