He was predeceased by: his siblings, Wilma, Dora, Cora, Diane, Jimmy, Joe and Tommy LaBue; and his parents, Joe Myers and Almiranda Barbee (Elle Lee).

He is survived by: his children, Grandan Barbee (Tanya) and Leah Barbee; and his siblings, Jerry Barbee (Anne), Gary Barbee (Millie) and Ruby Ewing (Joe). He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
