He was predeceased by: his parents, James Berg and Hilda Berg (Pederson); his former wife Loretta; his siblings, Tillman, Ervin, Gerhard "Smokey", Janet and Irene; and his stepson Peter Mead.
He is survived by: his wife Solveig Berg; and his children, Karen Downing (David), Michael Berg, Colleen Berg (Ron Stroh), Connie Berg (Steve Elgar) and Frederick Berg (Denelle). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
