He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schreiner and Frances Schreiner (Boyle); his son Mark; and his siblings, Richard, Donald, Victor, Jack, Bill, Tom and Lonnie.

He is survived by: his wife Gerri; his children, Pat Schreiner (Karen), Michael Schreiner, Robert Schreiner (Kim) and Susan "Claire" L'Moure; and his sister Lorita "Babe". He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

They always welcomed me with open arms and Jim would crack jokes while Gerri (my other mom...) was offering some type of snack or food.... Wonderful people. Mike and family - Jim will be missed but his legacy lives on not only you all, but in many other people. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.”
