He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Kuhens and Dorothy Kuhens; his former wife Mary Torkelson; his grandson John Carl Altendorf; and his brother Culver Kuhens.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Beth; his children, Mel Kuhens (Laura Kracht), Kay Persons (Dan), Katherine Altendorf (John) and Teresa Kuhens; his brother Denis Kuhens (Cindy); his grandchildren, Katie Jo Svenson (Darin), Kimberly Riley (Bobbie), Kristin Brommer (Courtney), Laura Sprouls (Travis), Rachel Persons, Jacob Altendorf, Adam Altendorf and Cory Washington (Jessa); and his great grandchildren, Tula, Reggie Riley, Isabelle Sprouls, Zephryn, Zaeyla, Zeena Volker (Persons), Alden and Hollis Washington.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Boulger Funeral Home (123 10th St S, Fargo, ND 58103). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to ELCA World Hunger or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
