She is survived by: her parents, Carl Hjalmquist and Joan Hjalmquist; her siblings, Diane (Wayne Brendemuhl), Doreen (Jim Peters) and Dave; her sister-in-law Mary; her nieces and nephews, Tara Hjalmquist, Tyler, Dan Brendemuhl, Erik Brendemuhl (Alyssa), Adam Brendemuhl (Hailey), Amanda and Jason Peters (Lauren); and her close friend Deb Reif Reda. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Memorials can be made to Sanford Hospice House or the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND in Debbie's name.
