He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elsie; his children, Sherie Danner (Bob) and David Capistrant (Shirley); his grandchildren, Renee Capistrant (Tim Kinney), Nicholas Capistrant (Sheila) and Charles Capistrant; and his sister Jane Gantzer. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Underdog Rescue.
