He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schwietering and Audrey Schwietering (Elletson); and his sisters, Kaye and Roxanna. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Jody, Josh (Jolene) and Jake; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Luke, Nick, Chloe, Nadia, Will and Nate; and his brothers, Bill Jr., Korb (Cheryl) and Tim (Jill). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
His contributions to the profession were recognized when he was inducted into the Baker's Hall of Fame in 2012.
