He is survived by: his wife Mary Hoffman; his stepchildren, James Wilson, Tina Aufderhar and Amber Konen; his children, Jean Fields (Rob), Lori Dawson (Chad), Sarah Crandall (Rob) and Brian Hoffman; and his siblings, Mike Hoffman, Daniel Hoffman (Ron) and Kim Hoffman (Karen). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in honor of Gary to the American Legion Post 260 at 304 Elm St. Monticello, MN 55362 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
