It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Balk (Montgomery, Minnesota), born in Algona, Iowa, who passed away on January 17, 2014, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Balk and Laura Balk (Hammer); his wife Alice M. Wieland; and his siblings, Jake Balk, Hugo Balk, Joyce Andresen and Mildred Aalid.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Balk (Betty) of Savage, Charles Balk (Kathy) of Brainerd, Michael Balk (Claudia) of Hastings, Constance Jackson (Curt) of Northfield and Sally Rademacher (Greg) of New Prague; and his sister Darlene Puchner of Nebraska. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Holy Redeemer Catholic School.
