He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Groothuis and Marlus Groothuis (Byrd). He is survived by: his wife Karinda Jordre; his children, Corbin of Jessup, MD, Ethan of Washington, D. C. and Kalina of Duluth; and his siblings, Rick (Jane) of Maynard, Steven of Maynard and Mary of Mankato. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, nonperishable food items are preferred.
