He was predeceased by: his mother Almeta McIntyre; and his grandfather Carl White. He is survived by: his daughter Jaylon (Elliot); his wife Betty; his grandsons, Hudson and Aiden; and his siblings, Carl (Anita), Thomas (Joyce), Ronald and Linda. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

In remembrance of John's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Rock Steady Boxing, the Michael J. Fox Foundation or Struther Parkinson's Center.
