She was predeceased by: her parents, Shifra Taback and Nathan Taback; and her siblings, Zola Zevit, Jack Dolberg and Harvey Taback.
She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Bemel (Susan), Sanford Bemel (Cheryl), Robert Bemel (Randi Livon) and Nancy Bemel-Silverman (Mark); her grandchildren, Danielle Rodin (Yuriy), Arianna Livon-Bemel, Hayley Bemel (Andrew Heisler), Louis Livon-Bemel (Rosie Buchanan), Spencer Bemel, Sophia Bemel, Blaire Bemel, Reece and Madison Silverman; and her great grandchildren, Penelope and Mila Rodin. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Jean requested donations made to Pacer Center, Autism Speaks and Ronald McDonald House.
