He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Thorvald Hansen and Charlotte Hansen; his brother Thor; his sister-in-law Nancy Lou Hansen; and his nephews, Thor and Rory Hansen.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie (Schaeffer); his children, Dr. Karla Hansen, Derek Hansen (Jennifer) and Dana Hansen (Tiffany); and his siblings, David Hansen (Marilyn), Phillip Hansen (Colleen), Nancy Hansen and Marilyn Hansen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
