He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Maele and Emma Van Maele; his parents-in-law, Frank and Bernice Sass; and his sister-in-law Patricia Sass.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Barbara Mercer (Michael), Donna Kelly (Richard Klaus) and Linda Van Maele; his grandson Brendan Mercer; his sister-in-law Constance Bak; his niece Anne Marine; and his nephews, Michael, Robert and Geoffrey Bak.
Memorial donations may be made is his memory to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
