He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Sr. Fort and Margaret Fort (Rossin); his son Martin; and his siblings, Harold, Clyde "Bobby", Kenny, Peter, Violet Erickson, Lorraine Mentgen, Ethel "Tootie" Gibbs and Bette Sievers.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria Pollema; his close friend Elsie; and his siblings, John, Susie Nienow and Janet Giep.
